For those of you who are new to memorizing Scripture, we will take it slow. The purpose of knowing Scripture by heart is to know who God is. His words can be trusted. His words are portals to health, wealth, and wisdom. They will take you deeper into "weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith" (Matthew 23:23). God's Holy Spirit will open your eyes to spiritual matters so you can be in the world, but not of the world (John 17:14-16). On this journey, your emotions will run the gamut. We will be confronted with cognitive dissonance, encouraged with uplifting promises, and weep because we will finally learn the purpose of our pain. Memorizing Scripture is not about repeating vacant chants several times a day, but about testing the spirits - not believing every one that you hear - deciphering whether it is from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world (1 John 4:1). Follow along below for all of our verses. The first one was already given so we could end 2024 strong and start 2025 with momentum and power!
